After installing Ubuntu 20.04 system under win10, the default startup system is Ubuntu.
To set the default startup system as win10, follow these steps:
-
Enter the ubuntu system and press Ctrl+Alt+T to open the terminal.
-
Enter the command:
or go to the /etc/default/ folder, open the terminal, and enter the command:
sudo gedit grub
Modify the 6th line GRUB_DEFAULT=0 to the system number you want to start by default, and save after setting;
The system number is the menu order when starting, starting from 0. Ubuntu is the default first, with a number of 0. Win10 is usually the 5th, with a number of 4. So set GRUB_DEFAULT=4.
-
Enter the (sudo) update-grub command to update the grub file.
-
Restart the system to default to the Windows system.
